  • Jojoba

    (Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil)

    Listed first because it's the largest ingredient. Technically a liquid wax that closely mirrors skin's own sebum, so it dissolves make-up and grime easily and rinses clean without stripping — which is why it suits oilier and drier skin alike.

    How it works: jojoba's molecular structure is a wax ester — the same type that makes up around 25% of skin's own sebum — which is why it's uniquely compatible with skin and rinses without leaving a heavy film. (Meier L, et al. International Journal of Cosmetic Science, 2008)

  • Sunflower Seed Oil

    (Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil)

    A light, skin-friendly oil naturally rich in vitamin E (tocopherols). It melts away the day's build-up while keeping the skin's barrier comfortable, not tight.

    The Silk Bar has been assessed under UK Cosmetics Regulation SI 2020/1466 and contains no retinoids, no hydroquinone, no high-dose salicylic acid (the salicylic acid present is at preservative level only), and no synthetic fragrance.
