Every ingredient, explained
If it's in the bar, it's on the label, and here's exactly why it's there. Swipe through.
-
Hemp Seed Oil
(Cannabis Sativa Seed Oil)The hero and the biggest ingredient. Very high in linoleic acid, a lighter fatty acid that congestion-prone skin tends to tolerate well. Seed oil only: no CBD, no THC.
-
Grapeseed Oil
(Vitis Vinifera Seed Oil)A light, fast-absorbing oil, also high in linoleic acid. It dissolves make-up, sunscreen and daily build-up, then rinses away and leaves skin feeling fresh, not greasy.
-
The Emulsifier
(Cetearyl Alcohol, Polysorbate 60)Turns the oils into a cleansing milk the moment they meet water, so everything rinses away with no greasy film. SLS-free: no sulphates.
-
Cetyl Alcohol
(Cetyl Alcohol)A plant-derived fatty alcohol, nothing like the drying kind. It gives the bar its firm, smooth body and leaves skin soft after rinsing.
-
Cocoa Butter
(Theobroma Cacao Seed Butter)Melts at skin temperature and gives the bar its soft, melt-on-contact feel. It keeps the cleanse comfortable, so it never feels harsh or drying.
-
Shea Butter
(Butyrospermum Parkii Butter)A cushioning plant butter that balances the lighter oils, so skin feels cared for after every cleanse, not just clean.
-
Polysorbate 80
(Polysorbate 80)A gentle solubiliser that works with the emulsifier so everything rinses away cleanly, essential oils included. No oily residue left behind.
-
Vitamin E
(Tocopherol)A natural antioxidant. It conditions skin during the cleanse and keeps the oils fresh from first use to last.
-
The Preservative System
(Benzyl Alcohol, Salicylic Acid, Glycerin, Sorbic Acid)The bar meets water every time you use it, so a light preservative system keeps each batch safe. The salicylic acid is there at preservative level only. It is not an exfoliating active.
-
Scent: named in full
(Lavandula Angustifolia Flower Oil, Rosa Damascena Flower Oil · Citrus Limon Peel Oil · Citrus Aurantium Dulcis Peel Oil · or none)Lavender & Rose Geranium is soothing and floral. Lemon is clean and uplifting. Sweet Orange is warm and calming. Unscented has no essential oils. Never parfum.
Your questions, answered
-
What is The Clear Bar and what skin is it for?
The Clear Bar by Audere Pure is a solid oil-to-milk cleanser built on hemp seed and grapeseed oils, both naturally high in linoleic acid. It's made for congestion-prone, oily and combination skin. Massage onto dry skin, add warm water, and it turns into a soft milk that rinses clean without stripping.
-
Can oil cleansing work for oily, congested skin?
It can. Like dissolves like: an oil cleanser lifts excess sebum, SPF and oil-based grime that water-based washes can leave behind. The Clear Bar uses light, linoleic-rich oils rather than heavier ones, and rinses off completely. Used daily, it helps skin look clearer and more balanced without that tight, stripped feeling.
-
Does hemp seed oil contain CBD or THC?
No. The hemp seed oil in The Clear Bar is pressed from the seeds and contains no CBD and no THC. CBD extracts come from the leaves and flowers, not the seeds. Here it's simply a light skincare oil, valued for its linoleic acid.
-
What's the best cleanser for teenage oily skin?
Look for something that cleans well without stripping, because over-washing can leave skin tight and uncomfortable. The Clear Bar is gentle enough for teens and tweens, has no sulphates or harsh foaming agents, and uses light oils that congestion-prone skin tends to get on with. Every ingredient is named on the label.
-
How do I use The Clear Bar, and how often?
Massage a small amount of The Clear Bar into dry skin for 30 to 60 seconds. Add a little warm water, massage until milky, then rinse. Use it daily, ideally in the evening. Keep the bar in a dry, well-drained soap dish between uses.
-
How is The Clear Bar different from The Silk Bar?
Both are Audere Pure oil-to-milk cleansers that rinse clean without stripping. The Clear Bar is built on hemp seed and grapeseed for congestion-prone, oily skin. The Silk Bar is built on jojoba and sunflower for a gentle everyday cleanse, and suits balanced, dry or sensitive skin.
-
Is The Clear Bar suitable for sensitive skin?
The Clear Bar has no sulphates and no harsh foaming agents. The scented versions contain essential oils, which some sensitive skins react to, so choose Unscented if that's you. It contains shea butter, which comes from a tree nut. Patch test on the inside of your wrist and wait 24 hours before using on your face.
-
Can I use The Clear Bar during pregnancy?
The Clear Bar contains no retinoids, no hydroxy acids at active levels, no parabens and no synthetic fragrance, and it is independently safety assessed. The scented versions contain essential oils. Check with your midwife or GP before using them in pregnancy. Unscented has no essential oils.
-
Does The Clear Bar contain parfum?
No. Every scent ingredient in The Clear Bar is named in full: lavender and rose oils in Lavender & Rose Geranium, lemon oil in Lemon, sweet orange oil in Sweet Orange. Naturally occurring allergens are declared plainly on the label.
-
How much is The Clear Bar?
The Clear Bar is £10.50 for 30g, made to order in small batches with ingredients chosen for what they do.
-
Who makes The Clear Bar?
The Clear Bar is made by Audere Pure, an independent natural skincare brand founded by Audrey Hayes. It's made in small batches in the UK, and the formula has a full Cosmetic Product Safety Report (CPSR).
