My mum had cancer during COVID lockdown. I couldn't visit her. Not once. For months, I couldn't hold her hand, sit beside her, or be in the same room. And when you love someone and they're going through something that frightening, not being there is its own kind of pain.

So I made her something instead. I wanted to send her something that felt like me being there. Something she could put on her skin and feel cared for — not just moisturised, but genuinely held. No fragrance that might turn her stomach during treatment. No long list of ingredients she'd have to research. Just something gentle, honest and kind, made by her daughter with everything I knew about skin and plants and love.

This oil is what I sent her. Rosehip, because it's nourishing and repairing. Calendula, because it's soothing and kind to skin that's been through a lot. Sea buckthorn, because it's one of the most purposeful plant oils I know for skin under stress — and because its warm golden colour makes it feel like sunshine in a bottle. Jojoba, because it absorbs like a second skin. Nothing hidden. Nothing that doesn't need to be there.

The Pure Nourishing Body & Face Oil by Audere Pure is a fragrance-free, anhydrous face and body oil made with six named plant oils — jojoba, rosehip, fractionated coconut, calendula-infused, sea buckthorn and vitamin E — formulated for all skin types including sensitive and treatment-stressed skin, with no parfum, no essential oils and nothing hidden behind a trade name.

Fractionated coconut keeps the whole blend lightweight and fast-absorbing. A calendula-infused oil base adds plant-derived soothing support, widely used for reactive and sensitised skin. Jojoba Oil

Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil

The foundation of this formula — and listed first because it's the largest ingredient. Technically a liquid wax rather than an oil, jojoba so closely mirrors the skin's own sebum that it absorbs readily without blocking pores or sitting on the surface. Ultra-gentle, non-comedogenic, and one of the most stable plant oils there is — it won't go rancid quickly, which matters for skin that needs reliable, consistent care.

How it works: its wax-ester structure closely resembles the skin's natural sebum, allowing it to penetrate the skin barrier rather than coat it — making it effective for all skin types including sensitised and very dry skin.

Rosehip Oil

Rosa Canina Fruit Oil

A hero face and body oil in its own right. Rich in linoleic acid — the omega-6 fatty acid that supports the skin's barrier function — and naturally containing trans-retinoic acid, a plant form of vitamin A that supports the appearance of healthy, renewed skin. Absorbs readily without a greasy finish, and brings the warm rose-amber depth to the oil's overall colour.

Clinical evidence: rosehip oil has been studied for its role in improving the appearance of dry, ageing and damaged skin, with positive effects on skin texture and hydration. (Phytotherapy Research, 2015)

Fractionated Coconut Oil

Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride

Coconut oil with the heavier elements removed — what's left is completely clear, odourless and exceptionally lightweight, with a comedogenic rating of 1. Its role here is texture and delivery: it makes the whole blend effortless to apply and helps the other oils spread evenly, so a small amount covers more skin. For anyone who finds oils heavy or sticky, fractionated coconut is the reason this one won't feel that way.

Calendula-Infused Oil

Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil, Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract

Calendula flowers infused into sunflower oil — a traditional botanical combination with centuries of use for inflamed, reactive and easily irritated skin. The flavonoids and triterpenoids in calendula are specifically anti-inflammatory. At 10% of this formula it's a meaningful amount, not a trace. Several NHS cancer units recommend calendula-based products for patients undergoing radiotherapy to the skin.

Clinical evidence: calendula extracts have been studied for their role in reducing skin inflammation and supporting recovery in sensitised and reactive skin. (International Journal of Molecular Sciences, 2019)

Sea Buckthorn Oil

Hippophae Rhamnoides Fruit Oil

The ingredient behind this oil's warm golden colour — and the most purposeful one in the formula. Sea buckthorn is one of the only plant oils to contain omega-7 (palmitoleic acid), a fatty acid naturally present in human skin tissue that supports the appearance of elasticity and hydration. It also has one of the highest natural concentrations of beta-carotene of any plant oil, plus vitamins C, E and K. Kept at 4% so the colour stays warm without staining.

Vitamin E

Tocopherol

A natural antioxidant that does two things: it helps neutralise free radicals on the skin's surface, and it protects the other oils in this formula from oxidising — extending shelf life naturally without any synthetic preservatives. An anhydrous oil blend like this one needs no added preservative system; vitamin E is all it takes.

How it works: as a fat-soluble antioxidant, tocopherol is particularly effective in oil-based formulas where it is absorbed directly into the lipid layers of the skin barrier, providing protection from within.

The Scent — There Isn't One

No parfum · No essential oils · No added fragrance

Nothing in this formula is added for scent. No essential oils, no parfum, no fragrance compounds of any kind — which means no fragrance allergens to declare, because there genuinely aren't any. The faint natural warmth you may notice is the oils themselves. Brands using 'parfum' can blur what's actually in the bottle. We don't. What you see on the label is everything that's in it.

  • Can I use the Pure Nourishing Body & Face Oil on my face as well as my body?

    Yes — the Pure Nourishing Body & Face Oil is formulated and safety-assessed for regular use on both face and body. Its CPSR (MAF-0123-01) covers frequent application to the skin of the face and body.

    The formula is built on jojoba and fractionated coconut oil, both with a comedogenic rating of 1, so it won't block pores. A few drops warmed between the palms and pressed into clean skin is all you need. One bottle, head to toe.

  • Is the Pure Nourishing Body & Face Oil suitable for skin going through chemotherapy or radiotherapy?

    The Pure Nourishing Body & Face Oil is completely fragrance-free — no parfum, no essential oils, no synthetic fragrance of any kind — making it gentle enough for skin going through cancer treatment, when sensitivity to fragrance and irritants is often at its highest.

    Calendula has been widely studied for its soothing properties on reactive skin, and sea buckthorn has been specifically researched in the context of radiotherapy-related skin reactions. That said, always follow your care team's guidance on what to apply and when — and patch test on a small area first before applying more widely.

  • Should I use it during treatment, after, or both?

    The Pure Nourishing Body & Face Oil can be used throughout treatment and during recovery — both phases place significant stress on the skin barrier, and a fragrance-free nourishing oil can help support the appearance of healthy, comfortable skin at either stage.

    During chemotherapy, skin commonly becomes very dry, thin and reactive — this formula addresses all of those without any irritants. During radiotherapy, most units advise avoiding products on the treatment area in the hours immediately before a session; applying after each session and on rest days is generally well-tolerated, but always follow your own unit's specific guidance. After treatment ends, skin can remain sensitive for weeks or months — this is often when people find a gentle oil most useful.

  • Why is the oil golden in colour?

    The warm golden colour of the Pure Nourishing Body & Face Oil comes entirely from sea buckthorn oil — naturally one of the richest plant sources of beta-carotene, the same pigment that makes carrots orange.

    It is not a dye or additive. It's the plant. At 4% of the formula it gives the oil its distinctive warmth without staining skin or clothing when applied and absorbed normally. The colour is a sign of the oil's potency — high carotenoid content, vitamins C, E and K, and a unique omega-7 fatty acid profile found in very few plant oils.

  • Is there any fragrance in the Pure Nourishing Body & Face Oil?

    None at all. The Pure Nourishing Body & Face Oil contains no parfum, no essential oils and no added fragrance of any kind — which means there are no fragrance allergens to declare, because there simply aren't any.

    The very faint natural warmth you may notice comes from the plant oils themselves — jojoba, rosehip, calendula and sea buckthorn all carry a subtle natural scent.   • When should I use it — morning, evening, or both?

    The Pure Nourishing Body & Face Oil can be used morning and evening, or whenever skin feels dry, tight or in need of care. It absorbs readily without leaving a greasy residue, so it works comfortably under clothing during the day.

    For the face, apply a few drops after cleansing to slightly damp skin — the moisture helps it absorb more effectively. For the body, smooth over damp skin after a bath or shower while skin is still warm. For hands, cuticles or particularly dry patches, a single drop is enough. A small amount goes a long way across all three sizes.

  • Is the Pure Nourishing Body & Face Oil safe to use in pregnancy?

    The Pure Nourishing Body & Face Oil contains no essential oils, no synthetic fragrance, no retinol and no salicylic acid — all ingredients commonly flagged during pregnancy. It is safety-assessed under UK Cosmetics Regulation SI 2020/1466.

    We always recommend checking with your midwife or GP before introducing any new skincare product during pregnancy, as individual circumstances vary. They'll have the most relevant guidance for you.

  • Will it feel greasy or heavy on my skin?

    No — the Pure Nourishing Body & Face Oil is specifically formulated to absorb quickly and cleanly. Jojoba and fractionated coconut oil are both exceptionally lightweight carriers, and the formula contains no heavy butters or waxes that would sit on the surface.

    Applied to damp skin it absorbs in under a minute, leaving skin soft and nourished rather than slick. If you've tried body oils in the past and found them too heavy, the balance of oils in this formula is likely to feel quite different.

  • Which size should I choose?
