How to use

1. Scoop a small amount with a clean fingertip.
2. Smooth over lips and the skin around them. For sore skin around the mouth, go a little beyond the red edge.
3. Leave it on. Reapply as often as you like.
4. Always apply at bedtime, when it can work undisturbed all night.

Tip for parents: apply before school and at bedtime, the two times licking is most likely.

Every ingredient, explained

• Castor Oil (Ricinus Communis Seed Oil): Why this balm stays on. Castor oil makes up the bulk of the balm and forms a soft, flexible film on lips and the skin around them. It holds everything else in place through talking and eating, instead of wiping off in minutes.
• Shea Butter (Butyrospermum Parkii Butter): Shea adds a rich, protective layer that locks moisture in. It's naturally rich in fatty acids that help calm dry, sore-looking skin. Shea butter is pressed from the nut of the shea tree, so this balm is not nut-free.
• Calendula Infused Oil (Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil (and) Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract): Sunflower oil infused with marigold petals, here to soothe and comfort chapped, irritated-looking skin. Calendula has been used in skincare for centuries.
• Jojoba Oil (Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil): Jojoba is very close to the skin's own natural oils, so it sinks in and supports the skin's barrier. Used regularly, lips feel less dry between applications.
• Fractionated Coconut Oil (Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride): Light and silky. It stops the balm feeling heavy or greasy and has no taste or smell of its own.
• Candelilla Wax (Euphorbia Cerifera Cera): A plant wax, so the balm is vegan. Gives a firm, scoopable texture that won't melt in a school bag on a warm day.
• Vitamin E (Tocopherol (and) Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil): A natural antioxidant that keeps the oils fresh, so the last scoop is as good as the first.
• No fragrance. On purpose. (No parfum · No essential oils · No fragrance allergens): Fragrance is a common trigger for sensitive skin around the mouth, so we left it out completely. Nothing is added for scent or flavour.

What is Licky Lips Lip Balm for?
Licky Lips Lip Balm by Audere Pure is a fragrance-free balm for dry, chapped, sore lips and the red, irritated skin around the mouth. It's made for the dryness that gets worse in winter, and for children (and adults) who lick their lips. A castor oil base holds calendula, jojoba and shea against the skin for hours.

Why does my child have a red ring around their mouth?
A dry, red ring around the mouth is often caused by lip licking. Saliva wets the skin, then dries it out, again and again, and the skin gets chapped and sore. A balm that stays on helps protect the skin from saliva and keeps it moisturised. If it doesn't improve within two weeks, or looks crusty or infected, see your pharmacist or GP.

How do I stop my child licking their lips?
Keep lips comfortable so they don't feel the urge: apply Licky Lips Lip Balm before school and at bedtime. It has no sweet flavour, so there's nothing tempting to lick off. Gentle reminders help more than telling off, and drinking enough water helps too.
